AI training & workshops · UK SMEs

AI training for business teams, built around your own work.

NetVortex, an independent studio in Berkshire, runs AI training for business teams in groups of 2 to 6 people. The workshops are online, on fixed dates agreed with your team, and work through your own tasks in ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot or Gemini. Each is quoted in writing before you book, priced on the time to prepare and run it.

The training suits a small business owner and their staff, or one team inside a larger SME. The sessions are run by Regan and Brandon Fisher, the two people who do all our AI work, and if something your team raises isn't a job for AI, we'll say so.

What a session covers

Part of the preparation for each session is asking people which tasks they want help with, so it starts from their week rather than a set syllabus.

Example: for a four-person office team that handles enquiries and quotes, a session might cover:

  • briefing the tool properly, with the background it needs and a past reply you were happy with, so its first draft is closer to what you'd write yourself;
  • drafting replies to the questions customers ask most, for a person to check and send;
  • turning a long email thread or a page of meeting notes into a short summary with next steps;
  • agreeing what stays out of AI tools, such as customers' personal details, unless the business has approved a tool for that.

Whatever the tool, we come back to two habits. Check what AI writes, because it can sound sure of itself and still be wrong. And have a person read anything going to a customer before it's sent.

ChatGPT training for business

If your team already uses ChatGPT, or wants to start, a session can centre on it. Better prompts are part of that. So is the set-up, because a personal account belongs to the person, not the business, and anything typed into it goes with them when they leave.

Example: questions a ChatGPT session might answer for your team.

  • Which plan should you be on, and how do you move people off personal accounts?
  • What happens to the things people type in, and which settings on your plan affect that?
  • Can it work from your own documents, such as a price list or a staff handbook, so it has less to guess?
  • Which of your team's drafting and summarising jobs should it start on, and who checks what comes back?

We'd rather spend the time on the reply your team writes every week than on clever tricks nobody uses again.

If your team works in Microsoft 365, Copilot may suit you better, and on Google Workspace it may be Gemini. Our guide to the best AI tools for business compares all four.

Is there free AI training in the UK?

Yes. In January 2026 the government announced that every adult in the UK can take free AI courses for work, through its AI Skills Hub, and some take under 20 minutes. The same announcement cited research finding that only 21% of UK workers feel confident using AI at work (GOV.UK, 28 January 2026). The free courses are a sensible first step, and we'd suggest your team tries one.

A general course can't use your team's own tasks or teach your rules on data. A session with us does. Our sessions aren't part of the government scheme, and they aren't free, so if a free course covers what your team needs, we'll tell you.

Booking a session

  1. 01

    A free call

    Tell us who would attend and which jobs take up their time. If a session makes sense, we'll suggest what it could cover.

  2. 02

    A written quote

    It gives the price and the group size. The session length, what your team needs beforehand and what they'll be able to do afterwards are agreed with you and set out in it. Nothing is booked until you agree it.

  3. 03

    Preparation, then the session

    We prepare from what your team tells us, then run the session online, on the dates fixed with you.

  4. 04

    Afterwards

    If a task turns out to be worth automating, we can build it, charged by the hour, with the hours written down first.

Any automation is set up in your own accounts, as with all our AI automation agency work.

Training isn't always the right first step. Our free AI readiness assessment for business asks ten questions about how your business runs and shows the result on the page, with no email needed. If you'd rather have the whole business looked at first, read how we work as an AI consultant for UK SMEs.

Questions

There's no price list. A workshop is priced on the time it takes to prepare and run, and every job starts with a free call. If training makes sense, you get a written quote. You pay on invoice, in one payment. We're not VAT registered, so we don't add VAT. How we price has the detail.

It can be, if a few people spend a good part of their week on work AI handles well, such as first drafts and summaries, and they'll keep using it afterwards. If nobody has time to practise, or most of the work needs a person's judgement, probably not.

No. There's no certificate of attendance, and a session isn't a qualification. Our training isn't accredited or government funded. If your team needs a recognised award, a college or an accredited provider is the better route.

No. Training runs online, live on a video call, so people can join from wherever they work. If your business is in Berkshire, we can also meet in person to talk through what your team needs before the session. See AI consultant in Berkshire for the towns we cover.

We do: Regan Fisher, founder and developer, and Brandon Fisher, AI and automation consultant. Brandon has worked with AI since 2022 and has 18 years' experience in the IT sector. Regan has been building websites for 3 years, as well as many AI projects. There are no account managers in between. The people on your first call are the people who prepare your session, and who would build anything that comes out of it. More about NetVortex.

Training helps your team use AI tools in their own work. Consultancy looks at the business as a whole: which tasks are worth automating and how many hours each would take, set out in a written plan. Our AI consultant for UK SMEs page explains how that works. You can start with either, and the free call is a good place to decide.
